Lee

Ann Sargeant spoke to PSC's Creative Writing Club on October 19, 2017, about extended metaphors. As a result, I wrote this poem.

Lee*

if he were nature

he'd be a blue calm sunny Sunday

languorously shining

on the slow moving river

lapping at marsh green grass

lazily floating past birds, an alligator, a bobcat

and much like a sudden thunderstorm

he'd break fast and wide across the water

dizzily passing the shores in broad strokes

of dazzling liquid sunshine

returning to the Peace of hammock-lined marshy back yards

and the call of stillness bending the

wooded river landscape

*He enjoys kayaking on the Peace River.
