Welcome to 2017

2017 promises to be an interesting year. After being employed full time during the fall semester, I am back to adjuncting for the spring. In addition, I will be taking two grad classes this semester (History of the English Language and German for Reading Knowledge).
On 1/19 I will present at my college's Creative Writing Club's weekly meeting. After 20 years as a high school teacher and college professor, I have made several observations regarding the nature of writing and how to work around writer's block. Come out to PSC from 3 - 4 p.m. to hear my brief lecture on Conquering Writer's Block.
The most exciting part of this year will be in July and August, when I will be an Oxford Study Abroad student, taking two classes at Middlebury College's Center for Medieval and Renaissance Studies. This is through my graduate school, Arizona State University.
As a result of the summer program, instead of finishing my second masters degree in the summer of 2019 I will complete my interdisciplinary MA in English either in Fall 2017 or Spring 2018.
It looks like it will be a busy year full of new adventures. Those who know me know the trip to England is a bucket list goal, but I am also quite nervous. I'll be going without my wonderful husband and will be studying and living with a group of people I've never met before. This will actually be the first time I will stay in a dorm and have a roommate (other than when I went to summer camp with youth group)!
Here's to a new year!
